CricViz’s expert analysts provide data and analytics services throughout the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

LONDON AND DUBAI, 18 November 2023: CricViz, the world’s leading cricket data and analytics provider, has been selected to support the delivery of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) global broadcast of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

CricViz has supported the ICC across multiple tournaments in the past but the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup represents the most significant collaboration to date. Cricviz is supplying two members of staff across the four broadcast crews, meaning eight of the broadcast and editorial team is delivering services at every match.

The scope of services is two-fold, a commentary box analyst and a graphics producer for the duration of the tournament. The role of the commentary box analyst is to provide analysis and insight to the commentators and push CricViz-led graphics via the graphics producer and analysis producer. The role of the graphics producer is to manage the entire graphical output of the production, upholding high editorial standards and ensuring editorial graphics requirements are met.

CricViz insights are powered by the biggest cricket database in the world, with data points derived from multiple sources, including ball-tracking, which allows analysts to tell unique data-driven stories that enhance the broadcast. CricViz has made a concerted effort to break the 50-over game down, allowing for detailed analysis that helps explain the sport to new fans, while also catering for those with a deep understanding of the game.

Patrick Noone, Director of Broadcast and Media for CricViz commented, “CricViz has played a major role in all ICC events since 2016 and we are delighted to be providing services to enhance the broadcast for this event, with us fulfilling the role of graphics producer, as well as the traditional commentary box analyst role. This is a huge step forward in our relationship with the ICC, and we look forward to it continuing for future events.”
