Guy has 15 years senior management experience. He joined Ellipse Data as CEO in January 2020 from The Cricketer Publishing Ltd where he had served as Chief Executive since 2015. Guy has a passion for sport and the innovative use of data and has provided astute leadership throughout his professional career.

Mike Strong

As my main interests are sport and numbers I was very lucky to join Opta in 2010 and have remained in sports data ever since. At Ellipse occasionally adding grey hair to the young talented analysts and innovative ideas of explaining sport through data.

Aidan Cooney

Non-executive Director

Aidan is well known in the sports data industry having been CEO of Opta and leading it through a decade where it became the leading business in the sector at the point which it was bought by Perform.

Steve Dolton

Non-executive Director

Steve is a NED with extensive experience in P.E and PLC businesses; 8 exits and 2 flotations across a number of sectors. He has completed numerous M&A transactions, delivered significant operational improvements (including one turnaround) and built successful management teams.

Michael Kivido

Managing Director, CricViz

Before CricViz, Michael spent 6 years as an independent consultant leading various projects for leading listed and private companies across the UK, Europe and Africa. His previous experience also includes ~5 years with Bain & Company and ~3 years with Unilever.

John Coulson

John has been in the sports technology industry for almost 20 years, starting out as an analyst for Norwich City and then Middlesbrough in the EPL. John has held senior product roles with several of the forerunners in sports performance data: ProZone, Opta, Perform and most recently Catapult where he led corporate development.

Roderick joined Ellipse in 2023 having spent 20 years in the gambling sector and has held senior positions with Sporting Index and Inspired Gaming, specialising in algorithmic modelling, data-driven strategy and social responsibility.

Richard Hawkes

Richard founded TennisViz in 2019 with a vision to use data to grow interest in tennis by creating new metrics which would improve fans understanding and engagement. As an ex-coach, Richard also wanted to provide players and coaches with world-class analysis.

Jack Hudspith

Managing Director, Betting Services

Jack joined Ellipse in 2024 after almost 15 years in the betting industry, spanning customer-facing commercial operators, latterly the UK Tote, and data-driven proprietary trading, focusing on horse racing and tennis. He is passionate about innovation in the space and leads Ellipse’s strategy to support it.

Rob Lowe

Operations Director

Rob set up a company (Atlantis) with some university colleagues in 1996 to collect performance data for rugby. Subsequently, Atlantis merged with Opta and he went on to hold senior roles within Opta and then with Perform after Opta was purchased in 2013. Rob chose to become a consultant to the sports data industry and acts as advisor to Football Dataco.

Dan Munroe

Dan joined Ellipse in 2020 having spent 15 years in senior sports data and technology roles with Stats Perform and Opta. He is responsible for leading the team that works on the collection, storage, manipulation and delivery of sports data.
