TennisViz partners with USTA

TennisViz are excited to announce a long-term partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA).

The UK-based tennis performance analysis company will work alongside USTA’s Player Development and Performance Analysis Department to provide ground-breaking analysis that will significantly support the coaching provided to the top tennis players in the United States.

TennisViz will provide revolutionary AI software that assesses every shot played in a match and original and innovative insights that accurately show how a match has been won and lost.

This comprehensive analysis will be automatically fed for USTA’s use, where previously it would have been collected manually at significant time expense.

David Ramos, Director, Coaching Education and Performance Analytics at USTA, commented:

“The TennisViz data, visualisations and insights are a game-changer for our developmental and scouting applications in Player Development.

“The ability to have the details at the shot and point level as well as summary information that allows for comparison against tour standards is truly unique. We have been working with industry leaders for the past five years to develop a similar approach, and TennisViz has accomplished virtually everything we were unable to achieve.

“We are thrilled to have access to this technology and looking forward to implementing it to the fullest extent through the 2022 season and beyond.”

Head of Performance at TennisViz, Tom Corrie, said:

“We feel the traditional data points in tennis just show who is winning, not how matches are being won and lost.

“The team at the USTA were looking for something different, something new, and we are thrilled they are finding our process and insights so helpful.”
